In Novosibirsk, the production of welded pipes with a diameter of 219 - 530 mm will begin production

OJSC "Novosibirsk Metallurgical Plant named after Kuzmin" intends to invest more than 750 million rubles in the development of pipe production. The leadership of the plant decided to introduce a line for the production of electric -welded straight -line pipes of medium diameter.

Today, the NMZ has begun the choice of the supplier of the pipeline -welding unit "530" with a capacity of 150 - 180 thousand tons per year. The unit should produce an electric welding pipe with a diameter of 219 to 530 mm. The contract for the supply of equipment will be concluded before the end of this year.

“The forecast terms of the implementation of this project are about 18-20 months,” Alexander Usachev, Deputy General Director of the NMZ for reconstruction and development, said at the meeting. The meeting of managers and specialists of the Novosibirsk Metallurgical Plant was chaired by the plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District Viktor Tolokonsky.

In addition to water and gas pipes, the NMZ intends to master the production of structural pipes of square and rectangular section in the range from 140x140 mm to 300x300 mm. “In the near future, the demand for profile pipes will grow, due to the increasingly active use of such products in the construction industry,” said Alexander Usachev. Additionally, the possibility of building a hot zing section for metal structures on the NMZ is considered. The investment budget of such construction is at about 300 million rubles.

Presidential representative Viktor Tolokonsky supported the initiatives of the NMZ leadership, expressing confidence that the emphasis on the development of the tube industry in the region is the right decision. Tolokonsky emphasized: "The further development of the territories of Siberia and the Far East involves the development of natural resources deposits in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Irkutsk region, in Yakutia, new projects in the field of oil and gas chemistry, which will require the construction of processing complexes, oil, gas and pipelines."
