Interpipe to invest $ 14 million in the development of the production of pipes with premium connections

The Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe has launched an investment project to increase the capacity for the production of casing pipes with premium threaded connections. The main equipment for the new line will be supplied by Danobat, a leading manufacturer of metalworking equipment.



Interpipe and Danobat signed a contract for the supply of machines for a new threaded line for the production of casing pipes and couplings. The line will be built at the Interpipe NTRP plant in Dnipro.

The new line is designed for cutting threaded connections on oil and gas pipes. First of all, to increase the production of casing pipes with our own premium UPJ-M connection, certified in accordance with the requirements of CAL IV of the ISO 13679 standard. The line will consist of two pipe-cutting machines equipped with places for quality control of the threaded connection. Its capacity is about 70 thousand tons /year of products with premium connections.

In addition to the pipe-cutting line, a new coupling-threading machine and a saw for cutting the coupling blank will be installed. This will increase the capacity for the production of premium couplings.



The project also includes the installation of ancillary equipment, including a band saw to cut pipe ends, an additional electric bridge crane and a mechanized inspection table to check the quality of the joint assembly.



The total investment will be about $ 14 million. The launch of the equipment is scheduled for 2019.

- World reserves of readily available hydrocarbons are getting smaller, which leads to the need to develop more complex fields. The situation is similar in Ukraine. Construction of complex wells requires the use of premium threaded connections of the highest gas tightness class, which includes our UPJ-M connection. Increasing production output with UPJ-M is the main goal of the new investment project. After its implementation, we will be able to increase the supply of such products to the Ukrainian market, as well as start exporting premium products to the markets of America, the Middle East and the CIS, which is still complicated by the limitation of our capacities.
