PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" renovates filling and distribution points for mining and railway equipment

PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" has completed the construction of an outfitting center at the railway station "Karyernaya" intended for refueling diesel locomotives, railway cranes for repairing tracks and filling petrol stations. The latter deliver fuel from the point to the quarry for refueling dump trucks, drilling rigs, excavators and other large-sized equipment.

Refueling tanks hold 35 thousand tons of fuel each. Thanks to the modernization, they are now filled from 50 minutes to an hour, previously it took from 3 to 3.5 hours. To speed up the delivery of diesel fuel, a new pipeline was laid here with a length of 360 meters, with a diameter increased by 1.5 times. Six fuel filters are installed on the pipeline, which improves the quality of the fuel. The unloading ramp was additionally equipped with two new devices. Thanks to the installation of an auto-filling riser and replacement of the pipeline, it was possible to reduce downtime by three times.

A new pumping station was also built with three fuel pumps instead of one: for unloading diesel fuel from railway tank cars, dispensing fuel for railways. technicians and refuellers. Moreover, all pumps are interchangeable, which provides triple redundancy of pumping equipment. A fine diesel fuel filter is installed on each fuel pump, which protects against the ingress of fine mechanical impurities. There are two fuel dispensers installed at the diesel fuel dispensing section, which makes it possible to automate the dispensing of fuel. Installed counters to account for its consumption.

At the same time, the work of the personnel has become safer and more comfortable. A new platform with a SafeRack folding bridge and a special additional US-made fence is provided. Its protective design helps to reduce operational risks for drivers when refueling equipment.

In total, the mining department of PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" uses three equipment points to supply mining and railway equipment with fuel. Earlier, one of them was renewed - in the area of ​​the third quarry. Industrial tests of the point on the railway are now being completed. station "Karyernaya". There are plans to modernize the third one in the locomotive depot.
