At the session of the Mariupol City Council, the issue of MMK named after Ilyich

The question of the situation that developed around the ILICH MMK caused a stormy discussion in the session hall.

A number of deputies, having sided with the work collective of the plant, expressed a rebuke to the executive branch, led by the mayor due to delay in decision-making and the absence of meetings with the labor collective.

The deputies of the Mariupol city council adopted unanimously an appeal to law enforcement agencies, which, in particular, said:

“The Mariupol City Council is concerned about the situation around the Ilyich Mariupol Metallurgical Plant OJSC, a destabilizing enterprise and undermining its economic potential.

Taking into account the order of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and law enforcement agencies regarding the verification and investigation of the situation related to the sale of shares of Ilyich-Stal CJSC, and the initiative of the creation of the Investigative Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the City Council appeals not to escalate the situation, remain calm and confidence in the clarity and efficiency of the work of all regulatory authorities this issue.

Being not entitled until the end of all actions to verify information on the illegality of the sale of shares to evaluate the events that take place, the city council, nevertheless, cannot remain aloof from the fate of the plant, which is one of the city -forming enterprises.

The deputy corps expresses support for the labor collective, willingness to provide him with maximum assistance within his powers, and appeals to the law enforcement agencies of the city of Mariupol with a motion to take all possible measures in protecting the rights and legitimate interests of the plant’s employees and their families, to inform the city council and community on the progress and results of the actions carried out. ”
