Khorasan Steel, one of Iran's largest producers, increased its exports by 67% year on year in the ten months to January 20 to 150,618 tonnes, already more than the total for the last full Iranian year. The steel mill aims to export 200,000 tonnes per year until March 20, 2019.
In addition to its previous clients in Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Pakistan, Khorasan has found new buyers in Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Southeast Asia this Iranian year, the firm said.
Iran's fourth largest steel mill has an electric arc furnace billet production plant with a capacity of 1.4 million tons per year and 640,000 tons per year of rebar and capacity. It also has an iron ore pellet plant with a capacity of 2.5 million tonnes per year. Its iron ore concentrator of the same capacity, ordered in 2015 from the Finnish technology provider Outotec, is due to start soon.
