Production results of the metallurgical sector of Ukraine since the beginning of 2019

General performance indicators of enterprises of the MMC of Ukraine in February and for 2 months of 2019:

In February 2019, it was produced:

- pig iron - 1.59 million tons, which is 11% lower compared to January 2019;

- steel - 1.69 million tons, which is 9% lower;

- rolled products - 1.48 million tons, which is 8% lower.

The drop in production compared to the previous month was caused by the difference in the number of days, as well as by the overhaul and preventive maintenance of the main metallurgical units.

During two months of 2019, metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine produced:

- iron ore concentrate - 10.20 million tons, which is 1% higher compared to the same period in 2018);

- agglomerate - 5.15 million tons, which is 4% lower;

- pellets - 3.66 million tons, which is 4% higher;

- gross coke (6% wet) - 1.70 million tons, which is 4% lower;

- pig iron - 3.38 million tons, which is 6% lower;

- steel - 3.54 million tons, (100%);

- rolled products - 3.08 million tons, which is 1% lower;

- pipe products - 0.17 million tons, (100%).

Currently, of the main operating production facilities, there are in operation: 19 out of 21 blast furnaces, 8 out of 9 open-hearth furnaces, 15 out of 16 converters, 7 out of 15 electric furnaces and 15 out of 15 continuous casting machines.
