Pellet production in Iran is growing faster than DRI. The five largest Iranian iron ore pellet producers increased production by 24% year on year from March 20 to 1.86 million tonnes, according to the Mining and Mines Development and Reconstruction Organization (Imidro).
In the Iranian year to 20 March 2019, this production increased 49% year on year to 26.7 million tons.
Gol Gohar was the largest producer with 11.71 million tonnes. This was followed by the development of the mining and mining industry in the Middle East (Midhco) with 4.94 million tonnes, Sangan Opal Parsian with 3.65 million tonnes, Chadormalu with 3.56 million tonnes and Sangan Steel Mining Industries with 2.87 million tonnes. tons.
The direct reduction in iron production in Iran for the year from March 20 rose by 17% to 26.36 million tons. DRI exports fell 25% to 533,000 tonnes.
Apparent consumption of finished products decreased by -5% to 19.6 million tons. Exports of finished products increased by 84% to 2.99 million tons, while supplies of semi-finished products abroad fell by 29% to 4.9 million tons.
