Zaporizhzhya Foundry and Mechanical Plant received a certificate of compliance with the international eco-standard

The production processes at the Zaporizhzhya Foundry and Mechanical Plant comply with the criteria of the international environmental standard ISO 14001: 2015. This conclusion was made by the specialists of the leading audit company TÜV SÜD based on the results of the certification audit that took place at the enterprise on May 18-19. The ceremonial presentation of the certificate took place on June 13 in Odessa.

During their visit to the Zaporozhye Foundry and Mechanical Plant, representatives of TÜV SÜD visited all structural divisions of the enterprise. Experts inspected technological processes in production shops, consistency in working with environmental documentation, including with registers of environmental aspects and risks, as well as measures implemented as part of the implementation of an environmental management system.

Among the specific environmental solutions, the auditors identified the reconstruction of the drying oven of the casting conveyor No. 1, which made it possible to reduce the consumption of natural gas by 30%. Also noted is the approach to work with production waste. About 20% of the burned earth used is used in the preparation of the molding sand, is reused in production.

As a reminder, in March the Zaporozhye Foundry and Mechanical Plant passed a recertification audit of the quality management system for compliance with the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001: 2015.
