Zaporizhzhya Metallurgical Plant Zaporozhstal in January-June 2010 increased the production of finished rental by 1.5% compared to the same period of 2009-up to 1.363 million tons of these products, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
According to the representative of the enterprise, during this period the commercial plant increased the steel smelting by 3.1%to 1.645 million tons, cast iron - by 3.3%, to 1.375 million tons and agglomerate - by 1.3%, to 2.417 million tons.
In June, the company produced 241 thousand tons of finished rental, 290 thousand tons of steel, 235 thousand tons of cast iron and 435 thousand tons of agglomerate.
In June, 65.3 thousand tons of scrap metal was delivered to the roadway, with a need of 62 thousand tons (105.4% of the necessary).
In 2009, Zaporozhstal reduced the production of finished rental by 15.5%compared to 2008 - to 2.748 million tons, steel - by 16.9%, to 3.278 million tons, cast iron - by 16.8%, to 2.732 thousand tons, agglomerate - by 12.2%, up to 4.759 million tons.
OJSC “Zaporozhstal” is one of the largest metallurgical enterprises in Ukraine. It produces a hot-rolled and cold-rolled sheet with a thickness of 0.5-7.0 mm from carbon, low alloy, alloy and stainless steels.
About 70% of the plant’s products are exported to more than 70 countries of the world.
