Any successful company is constantly working to reduce the number of off-target costs, in particular, transportation costs. To achieve the most efficient operation, fleets use control or monitoring systems. Modern control devices are miniature, they are installed on any vehicles and transmit data about their location, stops, speed, etc. Today, vehicle monitoring is possible both offline and in real time (Online). In the first case, it is necessary to receive information "retroactively", that is, after the return of the car to the parking lot. In order to take the data, you have to regularly make a round of all monitored machines. The advantages of the Ofline system are the absence of the need to pay a monthly fee and the ability to organize control in places where there is no cellular coverage area. The disadvantages of this system are much more. And the main thing is the impossibility of organizing operational control so that the head enterprise could know exactly where the transport is at a given time. The functionality of the Ofline system is less extensive, for example, it is impossible to establish a voice connection with the driver or "panic button". In addition, the enterprise has to allocate specialists who will have to constantly bypass the machines that have returned to the base to take data. This is not the most rational way to keep workers busy. The job of the specialist is to analyze the data and draw up reports, and not engage in race walking, bypassing parking lots. As a result, most of the enterprises that carry out transport monitoring are striving to switch to a more convenient Online control system. Such a system allows you to track the current coordinates of the vehicle, as well as the speed of its movement. Such accounting allows you to optimize fuel consumption, predict the time of scheduled maintenance in the service, depending on the mileage of the car. The ability to control the route of movement of transport allows you to increase the discipline of drivers, as well as their safety. After all, the exact knowledge of the place where the vehicle is currently located will allow you to instantly send help in the event of a force majeure. Thus, despite the fact that the cost of installing the Ofline system, such savings seem questionable. Not having to pay a subscription fee does not compensate for the inconvenience and low functionality of the system.
