Today, one of the surviving X-rays is known, a snapshot of the hand of the German physicist Wilhelm Konrad Roentgen, who later discovered the rays named after him in 1895. In medical practice, X-rays began to be used only at the beginning of the twentieth century. Nowadays, shooting using X-ray medical film is prescribed for the diagnosis of many internal diseases in the early and late stages. Different tissues of the human body perceive X-rays in different ways. Bone tissues have a denser structure than skin, muscles, blood vessels, fat layer, etc., therefore they absorb rays better. Soft tissues transmit X-rays through themselves, partially absorbing them. Bones are clearly visible in the image in the form of light images, soft tissues look darker. Nowadays, no doctor can do his work without x-rays. Any organ can be imaged on medical x-ray film. How is an x-ray of human bones performed? It is known that the smaller the distance, the clearer the picture. This is why the X-ray film cassette and tube are placed so close to the area of the body being examined. Such, almost life-size pictures, are called contact. Depending on which part of the body is removed, the position of the patient's body changes. For example, if x-ray film agfa the chest area is filmed, the patient stands, and if the hand area is filmed, the patient sits, etc. .d. In the course of studies using X-rays, as a rule, two pictures are taken: a front view and a side view. In some cases, for example, when scanning the brain, an X-ray study of a layer-by-layer nature is necessary - tomography is used. With the help of computed tomography, you can get a series of layer-by-layer images of the examined tissues, which are processed and transmitted to the monitor screen. This technique allows you to clarify the localization of the tumor, as well as its size. On X-ray film even a non-specialist can see fractures and dislocations of the bones. The doctor notices a lot more. The X-ray also gives an idea of bone density, the presence of a tumor, the presence of a foreign body, etc. The radiograph can inform about the age of the person being examined. In case of accidents, if it is necessary to take a picture on X-ray agfa film, the nature and extent of the damage can be clarified.
