Recycling of copper scrap

Переработка медного лома

For thousands of years, copper and copper alloy scrap has been recycled. This has become normal economic practice. It was common in the Middle Ages that after the war, bronze cannons were melted down to make more useful items, and during the war, church bells were used to make cannons.

The entire modern economy of the copper industry depends on the processing of any copper scrap, therefore, the acceptance of copper scrap on the site https ://bazaloma.kiev.ua/provides favorable conditions for accepting non-ferrous scrap.

Use of scrap copper and its alloys

There is a significant range of copper-based alloys for a wide variety of applications. The use of the most suitable and cheapest raw material - scrap copper and its alloys - for the manufacture of components gives the lowest cost of the material.

Recycling of brass scrap is the basis for the industry's economy. Brass is produced from a base melt of similar composition scrap, adjusted with the addition of primary copper or zinc as required to meet specification prior to pouring. It is economically viable to use scrap brass purchased at a significantly lower cost than the original alloy was made.

Good quality, high conductivity copper can be processed by simple melting and inspection before casting, either to finished shape or for subsequent fabrication. However, copper is often contaminated and needs to be reworked; it is usually remelted and cast into an anode mold so that it can be cleaned electrolytically. If, however, the level of impurities in the cast anode is significant, it is unlikely that the resulting cathode will meet the highest standards required for grade A copper. In this case, it is necessary to recycle in other ways to recover copper.

Sometimes, fragments of copper and copper alloys are very contaminated and unsuitable for simple remelting, or for obtaining some of the many copper compounds required for use in industry and agriculture. It is common practice to use more suitable methods to recover usable copper.
