Severstal machine builders independently manufactured the converter housing, which, together with the support ring, weighs 790 tons and is about 12 meters high.
On the eve of the 70th anniversary of the Cherepovets Metallurgical Plant, we are solemnly launching Converter 3!
The complex large-sized equipment was manufactured by Severstal's own SSM-Tyazhmash machine-building center. The overhaul of this equipment has become the largest in the last 10 years. Replacing the converter housing will ensure the reliability of one of the main units, on which both the volume and the economic efficiency of steel production depend.
