White vinegar: 10 practical ways to use it to cleanse

Белый уксус: 10 практических способов использования его для очистки

Economical and eco-friendly white vinegar (or white alcohol vinegar) is an indispensable home care aid, very useful for cleaning, disinfecting and glossing a variety of surfaces, from walls to shower hose. There are really many ways to use it, from home to garden.

White vinegar kills 99% of bacteria, 82% of mold and 80% of viruses, but that's not all.

In addition to providing an important antibacterial function, this product is effective in combating pollution and unpleasant odors in pipes.

White vinegar is also a powerful and natural alternative to bleaches, conditioners and fabric softeners. However, as you will notice, this article will focus more on its more specific uses during home cleaning than on products it can replace.

As you continue reading the following pages, you will discover 10 amazing uses for white vinegar:

1) Remove the wallpaper

Pour the same amount of white vinegar and water into a bowl. Dip the sponge into the liquid and wipe the wallpaper with it. Alternatively, you can use a spray bottle. Let it sit for five minutes, then start scratching. At this point, the wallpaper should peel off easily.

2) Brushes like new

What would you say if your nylon bristle brushes were as good as new? Nothing is impossible, just follow these simple steps: Heat some white vinegar in a bowl; let the brushes soak for about 30 minutes; wash brushes with hot water and soap, then fresh water only and let dry. The vinegar will remove paint marks, giving the brush bristles a new softness.

3) Measure soil pH.

To find out if the soil in which your plants grow is alkaline or acidic, put some in a container and sprinkle with vinegar. If after a few moments the earth forms bubbles on the surface, it is a sign that it is quite alkaline, and if nothing special happens, it means that the earth is neutral or at most acidic.

4) Descale the taps.

With this little trick, removing limescale from faucets and shower hose is as easy as shelling pears! Take a waterproof plastic bag and pour some white vinegar into it, then cover the object you want to descale. Give him a rest all night and you will see what the result!

5) Prevent paint peeling

To increase the adhesion of the paint to metal or concrete objects, wipe it down with a sponge and white vinegar before applying the paint layer. The acidity of the vinegar will clean and degrease the surface, improve paint adhesion and prevent spillage.

6) Removing traces of labels and stickers

This tip will be a great help for you in permanently removing traces of labels and stickers on glass, plastic or wood objects. Using a sponge dipped in white vinegar, wipe the surface vigorously and continue until the glue is gone.

7) Remove rust

Are there old tools, nuts or bolts in some corner of the house? Before discarding them, try reconstituting them by soaking them in white vinegar for a few days and finally rinsing them under running water. Alternatively, you can also use Coca-Cola, which is often used as a stain remover.

8) Protect your hands

Substances found in some building materials often cause skin irritation. If you find yourself in a similar situation, we advise you to clean your hands with a mixture of 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 water before washing your hands. As an acidic component, vinegar neutralizes the alkaline composition of the material, which is the main cause of ongoing irritation.

9) Clean wood furniture

For a better cleaning of a wooden table (obviously judging the type of wood first), dampen a rag with a mixture of white vinegar and olive oil and wipe the surface to be treated with it. As you can admire for yourself, this little trick will be enough to bring the tree to life and make it shine again!

10) Restore the whiteness of the seams

To revive the whiteness of ceramic floor joints, you may have a solution at hand, we suggest you dip a hard-bristled toothbrush in white vinegar and rub it several times into the surface to be treated.
