The document on establishing twinning relations was signed by Brest Mayor Sergei Lobodinsky and his Russian counterpart Yuri Parakhin. It states that the partners intend to build their relations based on the principles of trust and attaching great importance to creating conditions for open dialogue, partnership and expansion of mutually beneficial contacts.
By the way, during the meeting of the working group, the governor of the region, Peter Parkhomchik, stated that the trade turnover between Belarus and the Orel region has grown significantly. And touching upon the issue of Russians' needs for passenger transport, he confirmed that Belarusians are ready to supply everything from "modern electric buses, trolleybuses with autonomous running to agricultural machinery."
The friends also have mutual interests in the agricultural sector, in particular in seed production. In addition, "given the peculiarities of the two regions, it would be wise to develop joint tourist routes and organize mutual press tours on an ongoing basis," the governor believes.
In short, the leadership of the fraternal regions plans to assist in establishing links between enterprises and organizations in Brest and Orel, attracting investments and implementing joint projects. Our colleagues also aim to expand cooperation between educational institutions and organize exchanges between students and teachers. Contacts in the fields of culture, sports and tourism will also be encouraged, in particular participation in festivals and tournaments.
By the way, observers remind you that this year agreements on establishing friendly relations with Astrakhan, Vladivostok and Sertolovo and Kyrgyz Karakol were signed in the Belarusian regional center.
