In the first eleven months of this year, new shipbuilding orders totaling 44.99 million CGT were placed on the global market, which is 36 percent less than last year and 17 percent higher than the average recorded for the last 10 years.
Currently, due to the large-scale supply schedule and the expansion of China's capacity, the global shipbuilding industry is in a growth phase. According to Clarksons, global shipbuilding production will reach 43.5 million CGT in 2025, up 6% from the previous year and up 15% to 50.1 million CGT in 2026. Meanwhile, preliminary forecasts indicate that total shipments in 2027 will reach 54 million CGT, approaching the peak seen during the 2010 shipbuilding boom.
