Prices for products manufactured in Canada, as measured by the Industrial Product Price Index (IPPI), rose 0.4 percent month-on-month in February and increased 5.4 percent year-over-year, according to Statistics Canada. Prices for raw materials purchased by manufacturers operating in Canada, as measured by the Raw Materials Price Index (RMPI), rose 0.6 percent from January to February and increased 8.6 percent year-on-year in February.
The IPPI rose 0.4 percent month-on-month in February after rising 2.8 percent in the previous month.
IPPI rose. 5.4 percent year-on-year in February 2026, the index's 17th consecutive month of year-over-year growth.
In February, RMPI increased 0.6 percent month-on-month in February, driven primarily by higher raw energy prices (+4.8 percent). Excluding raw energy, RMPI fell 1.1 percent.
