In January-March this year, Georgia's total foreign trade turnover with Turkey, which is the country's leading trading partner, amounted to $802.1 million, including imports worth $657.32 million, up 9.2%, and exports worth $144.81 million, up 90.5% year-on-year, according to preliminary data provided by the Georgian National Statistical Office (Geostat).
In the first three months, Georgia's imports of iron or non-alloy steel ingots and rods from Turkey amounted to 59,301 tons, compared to 15,442 tons in the corresponding period last year. Meanwhile, the value of these imports was $35.33 million, up from $9.19 million between January and March 2025.
