Mexican long seller SIMEC reported net income equivalent to $99 million for the first quarter of 2026, compared with net income of $76 million in the first quarter of 2025.
On the same comparative basis, net sales increased 3.2 percent to $466 million, manufacturing costs increased 1.9 percent to $342 million, gross earnings increased 6.9 percent to $124 million and operating income increased 2.7 percent to $85 million.
In volume terms, sales increased 11.3 percent to 530,000 metric tons (t), of which 404,000 tons of beams and 126,000 tons of specialty steels.
Simec produces long and specialty steel products in Mexico, USA and Brazil.
Taking into account the Group's net profit of US$99 million in the first quarter of 2026, Mexico achieved US$50 million, a net loss of US$5 million in the US and a net profit of US$54 million in Brazil.
Simec reports its results in Mexican pesos (MXN), converted to US dollars at the rate of MXN 17.25 pesos per US dollar.
