The initiative, led by Daimler Truck AG in collaboration with FAUN and 33 partners across the automotive value chain, aims to increase the use of recycled materials and reduce embedded carbon emissions in trucks.
The project is aimed at the production of round trucks
The reECONIC concept aims to maximize the use of recycled and sustainable materials while maintaining the standards of durability, safety and performance required for heavy commercial vehicles.
The project highlights how circular design and responsible choice of materials can contribute to reducing carbon mobility along with vehicle electrification.
XCARB®steel used in truck structural components
As part of the ArcelorMittal project,:
- S500MC XCARB®steel for chassis rails
- S355MC XCARB®steel for body components and waste container structures
The company said these applications demonstrate that low carbon steel can already be integrated into safety-critical vehicle designs using existing industrial manufacturing processes.
According to the company, XCarb® products are supported
