India's coking coal imports through all the country's major ports during April-May fiscal year 2026-27 are provisionally estimated at 11.785 million tonnes, up 5.67 percent from last year, according to data received by the Indian Ports Association (IPA) on Thursday, June 4.
SteelOrbis estimates coking coal imports in May 2026 amounted to 5.955 million tons compared to 5.830 million tons in April 2026
. IPA data showed total iron ore freight volumes, including pellets, stood at 9.835 million tonnes during April-May 2026-27 financial year, up marginally by 1.86 percent year-on-year.
