The new plant, which will be built on a 5,388-square-meter site in an industrial development zone managed by East Port Said Development Company, will produce construction products, structural trusses and related metal components. The project is expected to create about 50 direct and 20 indirect jobs.
According to the Economic Zone Administration, the SteelCon project will support industrial integration in East Port Said by supplying metal components needed for existing and future industrial projects, thereby strengthening local supply chains and increasing the operational efficiency of investments throughout the zone.
Waleid Gamal El Dien, Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, said that supporting industries and industrial integration is the key to increasing the competitiveness of the East Port Said Industrial Zone and attracting further industrial investment. He added that the project will help expand the industrial base of the zone, increase the availability of local production resources and support the faster implementation of new projects.
Mr. Gamal El Dien also stressed that their industrial development strategy is aimed not only at attracting investments, but also at creating an integrated industrial ecosystem capable of supporting long-term growth, diversifying industrial activities and strengthening the zone's position as a regional and international industrial and investment center.
