According to the Chinese customs authorities, in January-May of this year, exports of semi-finished products from China amounted to 6.7541 million tons, which is 43.2 percent more than last year.
In May alone, exports of semi-finished products from China totaled 1.8125 million tons, up 10.53 percent month-on-month and up 392.17 percent year-on-year, reflecting continued strong demand for semi-finished steel products on the international market, according to Chinese customs authorities. Meanwhile, sluggish demand for finished steel in China's domestic market has contributed to a strong momentum in exports of semi-finished products from China.
