South Africa's International Trade Administration Commission (ITAC) has announced that it has recommended temporary anti-dumping duties on imports of large diameter welded steel pipes (LD) from Mozambique as a result of an investigation.
The investigation, which was launched at the request of the local steel company Hall Longmore Holdings on October 24, 2025, covered the period from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025.
ITAC found that the import of these products from Mozambique was below the normal cost, which caused material damage to the domestic industry. The Commission recommended that the South African Tax Service impose preliminary anti-dumping duties of 28.86 percent on imports of these products from Mozambican manufacturer ETG Steel Solutions Limitada, as well as all other manufacturers and exporters from Mozambique for a period of six months.
The HS code covers products with an outer diameter exceeding 406.4 mm. 7305.19.
