On June 25, the National Development and Reform Commission of China (NDRC) and the National Energy Administration (NEA) of China officially released the 15th Five-Year New Type Energy System Development Plan, aiming to preliminarily build a new energy system that is clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient.
Accordingly, by 2030, China's total energy generation capacity will reach 5.8 billion tons of standard coal equivalent, with coal and oil consumption reaching a peak. The proportion of non-fossil energy consumption will reach 25 percent, the installed capacity of wind and solar energy will exceed 50 percent of the total, non-fossil energy production will account for 50 percent of total production, and new energy production will account for 30 percent of total production.
Meanwhile, China will continue to intensify the exploration of coal resources and the development of strategic reserves, scientifically plan the construction of coal mining capacity, and focus on building five major guarantees coal supply bases that will account for more than 80 percent of China's total production by 2030.
