India has extended the anti-dumping duty (AD) on seamless pipes, tubes and hollow profiles of alloy and non-alloy steel imported from China until January 27, 2027, a government official said on Friday, July 10, citing an official notification.
The AD tax was introduced on October 28, 2021 for a period of five years.
The notification issued by the Central Council for Indirect Taxes states that the tax is currently being extended until January 2027 to protect domestic producers from cheaper imports.
The existing AD rate for these products ranges from $961.33/mt to $1,610.67/mt.
Seamless pipes and tubes are tubular steel products manufactured without a weld. Hollow profiles made of iron, alloy or non-alloy steel are also covered by this extension.
The expansion of AD collection has been requested by Indian manufacturers such as Jindal SAW, Kirloskar Ferrous Limited and Maharashtra Seamless Limited.
