ArcelorMittal, the world's second largest steel producer, increased EBITDA by 23% in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the first quarter, to $2.06 billion, the company said. Compared to the same period last year, the indicator increased by 11%.
Net profit amounted to $683 million, which is 18% higher than the previous quarter, but 62% lower than the profit for the second quarter of 2025.
Revenue in the second quarter increased by almost 8% quarter–on-quarter and by 5% year-on-year to $16.8 billion. The main reason for the improvement was an increase in the average steel price by 4.4% in March.
In the second quarter, the company increased steel output by 7.5% compared to the previous three months, to 14.3 million tons (14.4 million tons a year earlier). Shipments of metal in the last quarter amounted to 13.4 million tons (12.8 million tons in the previous quarter and 13.8 million tons a year earlier). Iron ore production for the quarter amounted to 13.5 million tons (9.7 million tons in the first quarter and 11.8 million tons a year earlier).
