In June of this year, Japan's industrial production grew by 1.3 percent month-on-month and by 4.2 percent compared to the same month in 2025, according to preliminary figures from the industrial production report released by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).
On the other hand, the Japanese iron and steel production index rose 1.8 percent year-on-year in June, while Japan's seasonally adjusted iron and steel production index remained stable this month compared with May. Meanwhile, in June, shipments of pig iron and steel by Japanese manufacturers decreased, while stocks of pig iron and steel in warehouses increased by 1.6 percent compared to the previous month.
According to the ministry's review of manufacturing production forecasts, Japanese&industrial production is expected to increase by 1.2 percent in July and 4.5% in August on a monthly basis. Meanwhile, Japan's iron and steel production is expected to decline 0.9% in July and increase 6.1% month-on-month in August.
