Ş (Çemtaş) has announced its financial and operating results for the first half of this year.
During the specified period, the company recorded a net loss of 172.56 Turkish liras million ($3.62 million), compared with a net profit of 19.85 million Turkish liras in the first half of last year, while sales revenue amounted to 3.44 billion Turkish lira (72.09 million dollars), down 9.3 percent year-on-year. In addition, Chemtash's operating profit for the first half of the year decreased by 51.8% year-on-year to 205.94 million Turkish liras ($4.32 million).
In the first six months of this year, the company's steel billet production amounted to 74,719 tons, a decrease of 8.8%, while rolled steel production decreased by 11.1% to 67,171 thousand tons year-on-year calculus.
Meanwhile, in the period from January to June in Kazakhstan, sales in the domestic market fell by 3.8% year-on-year to 42,500 tons, while export sales decreased by 1.2% year-on-year to 23,863 tons
