According to statistics released by Taiwan's Ministry of Finance, Taiwan's exports of pig iron and steel increased by 8.5 percent year-on-year to $1.31 billion in July this year. This month, the volume of imports of pig iron and steel into the country amounted to 942.01 million dollars, an increase of 11.6 percent year-on-year.
In the first seven months of this year, exports of cast iron and steel from Taiwan decreased by 5.8 percent to $8.23 billion in total, while the value of imports of cast iron and steel into the country amounted to 6.28 billion dollars, which is 9.0 one percent less than last year.
