According to preliminary data from the US Department of Commerce, imports of hot-rolled sheet to the United States in June this year amounted to 104,362 thousand tons, which is 28.1% more than in May and 23.9% more than in June 2025. In value terms, imports of HRC amounted to $65.2 million in June this year, compared with $52.3 million in May and $56.8 million in the same month last year.
In June, the United States imported the most HRC from Vietnam, with 24,549 tons, compared with 9,521 tons in June in May and 3,863 tons in June 2025. The other largest sources of HRC imports in June were Japan with 23,177 million tons, Algeria with 14,878 million tons, Brazil with 9,674 million tons, Canada with 8,833 million tons and South Korea with 8,011 million tons
