According to the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS), in the period from January to July of this year, China's HRC production amounted to 126.686 million tons and 29.404 million tons, which is 4.5% less than last year and 6.1% more than last year, respectively.
In July alone, China's HRC and CRC CRC production totaled 17.871 million tons and 4.371 million tons, respectively, which is 3.2% less than last year and 12.3% more than last year, with a decrease of 6.5% and 3.8% month-on-month, respectively.
In July, prices for HRC in the Chinese domestic market initially moved sideways, and then began to decline. As SteelOrbis previously reported, exports of sheet steel from China in January-July amounted to 38.26 million tons, according to Chinese customs authorities, during the reporting period this year this figure decreased by 9.9% year-on-year, which is 1.3 percentage points lower than the rate of decline recorded in the first six months of this year.
In July alone, steel sheet exports from China totaled 6.02 million mt, down 1.8% year-on-year and 1.15% month-on-month.
