The German company Cogne Edelstahl GmbH has expanded its own fleet of trucks at its warehouse in Sturm, near Bremen, by adding a new tandem trailer to expand self-delivery capabilities and increase flexibility in transporting steel, according to local media.

Although the fleet is based at the Sturm plant, it can also provide supplies for Cogne's distribution operations in Neuss, and its delivery network extends to the Ruhr area and the Sauerland.
Cogne uses its own vehicles to transport goods by external carriers, especially during periods of increased order volumes and when additional load capacity is required. The company intentionally maintains a relatively small private fleet in order to optimize the use of vehicles and transportation costs.
The investments were made based on the results of a customer survey conducted by Cogne, in which 95% of respondents identified reliability of delivery as the most important criterion when choosing a supplier, while almost 76% identified delivery time and schedule compliance as their biggest concern. About 84% of the respondents also consider local contacts and short communication channels to be very important.
