In South Korea, an underwater tunnel connecting metallurgical objects will be built

Gwangyang SteelWorks and the Yeosu industrial complex will begin to build an underwater tunnel for transporting by -products of production. The ceremony of signing the project for the implementation of the project took place at a meeting in Seoul organized by the Ministry of Industry and Resources. Posco will take part in the industrial support of the project.

Gaseous and other products will be able to be supplied if an underwater tunnel is built 3.8 km long for connecting the Gwangyang of the Metallurgical Plant and the ECU industrial complex. Hydrogen oxide and hydrogen oxide are formed in the production process on Gwangyang Steelworks, and nitric acid and caustic soda at the ESU complex. Currently, gaseous products can be used as materials that replace oil products, only inside Gwangyang Steelworks, as the transportation is difficult for ESU.

After by -products are able to be submitted by the underwater tunnel, production costs will be reduced due to a decrease in logistics costs and materials. This will provide an annual economic effect of more than 120 billion Korean won KRW. Such data were obtained during the calculation process and placed in cupboard archive metal .

The detailed planning of the project and the technical and economic justification will be carried out this year, and after obtaining permission and assessing the environmental impact and the use of water resources interstate sources, the underwater tunnel will begin to be built next year.
