What is happening in Ukraine is interpreted by Moscow as an attempt at a coup d'etat. Press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov told the journalists about it.
The night before (February 18), the Presidents of Russia and Ukraine, Vladimir Putin and Viktor Yanukovych, did indeed have a telephone conversation, Peskov confirmed. However, Vladimir Putin did not advise Viktor Yanukovych what to do and what to do in the current situation, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation emphasized.
Peskov advised to forget about the second tranche of $ 2 billion in Russian aid to Ukraine in the framework of the buyback of Eurobonds worth $ 15 billion, the provision of which had been announced earlier in the Russian government before the end of this week.
“Obviously, in a situation where extremists are satisfied with what is happening in Ukraine, the settlement of this particular situation is a priority,” he said, stressing that now he cannot say anything about the timing of the provision of $ 2 billion in aid to Ukraine.
Russia received money for gas and advises not to think about $ 2 billion for now.
