Ironbark seeks greenland zinc mining license

Ironbark Zinc said that under Greenlandic government law, a mining license requires a permit from environmental authorities and also imposes certain social obligations. Such a license is valid for a maximum of 30 years.

Ironbark said later that the acquisition of the license to implement the main project of Citronen, one of the world's largest undeveloped zinc resources in Greenland, is a defining step for the company's development. In addition, the company is engaged in metal exploration in Australia. The company's project portfolio includes, in addition to the Citronen zinc project, four base metal projects and exploration licenses for gold in New South Wales.

The statement from the company also said that Greenland has a long history associated with the extraction of lead and zinc ores, along with this, the country is actively developing other natural resources. In general, zinc and lead mining is approved by the government and legal aspects need to be investigated. The country is trying to actively develop a strong mineral base as well as oil production. As a positive result, the fact that the country has risen to the world ranking can be considered.

As part of the licensing process, the company will conduct public consultations and will also enter into agreements with Benefit, which works to provide jobs and training for Greenlanders. Ironbark has already submitted the necessary documents to the government of the country.
