Turkey's Steel Pipe Exports Increase 11 Percent

Data released by the Turkish Steel Pipe Manufacturers Association (CEBID) shows that exports of Turkish steel pipes increased significantly during September this year. This was reported in http://uchm.ru/.

Exports of pipes in September 2014 amounted to 183,160 tons, which is 10.8 percent higher compared to exports in the same month last year. The total export value reached $ 146 million.

The largest export market for Turkish pipes in September was the United States. US pipe imports from Turkey reached 36,657 tons, accounting for over 20 percent of the country's total exports for the month. Iraq came in second with 36,464 tons. However, exports of Turkish pipes to Iraq fell sharply, falling 13 percent in September. The third largest export market for Turkish steel pipes was the UK. The country bought 24,128 tons of steel pipes from Turkey in September.

Turkey's cumulative steel pipe exports in the first nine months of this year amounted to 1.4 million tons, up 2.7 percent from the previous year. However, the total value of exports fell 3.5 percent to $ 1.2 billion.

Over the past period of 2014, Iraq was the largest export market for Turkish pipes. However, the country's imports fell 20 percent year on year to 254,873 tons during that period. The other largest importers of Turkish steel pipes were the USA (221,988 tons) and the UK (200,307 tons).
