The stevedoring company said that EVRAZ Nakhodka Commercial Sea Port handled 7.7 million tonnes of cargo between January and October, an increase of 25 percent over the same period in 2013. At the same time, export supplies of coal processed at the terminal increased 1.5 times to 4.5 million tons.
In October, the terminal operator handled 878,800 tons of cargo. Coal export for the month almost doubled to 569,100 tons. The monthly volume of metals increased to 298,700 tons. In the process of cargo handling, many load-handling devices and handling equipment are used, as well as a network of access roads.
EVRAZ Nakhodka Commercial Sea Port is one of the main stevedoring companies operating in the largest Russian Far East port of Nakhodka, located in Nakhodka Bay in the eastern Peter the Great Bay. The port is connected to the continent through the Trans-Siberian Railway, serving the trade flows Asia-Europe-Asia.
The port is capable of handling up to 450 wagons per day. The warehouse area of the facilities is 300,000 m2. OJSC EVRAZ NCSP operates 15 cargo berths with a total length of 3.5 kilometers and can accommodate vessels 230 meters in length, 32 meters in width and 11 meters in draft. Currently, at least 15 vessels are capable of being simultaneously handled at the port's berths. During the year, the port is capable of handling more than 1,500 large-tonnage vessels.
