In the metallurgical industry, losses are predicted at all enterprises of the metallurgical industry

The combination of Metallurgprom recorded in the first quarter of 2012 a decrease in the profitability of the metaco -plants of Ukraine to minus 11%. Experts consider the reason for this deterioration in the situation the tariff and fiscal policy of the Ukrainian state. As noted in the Association of Metallurgprom, a drop in prices for metal products, a significant increase in energy prices and cargo transportation do not allow Ukrainian steel rolling manufacturers to compete with Russian metallurgists, not to mention European colleagues.

Without state support, without changes in fiscal policy, metallurgical enterprises will simply “fall” and there will be no one to pay taxes in the treasury, ”the Metallurgprom unit will state.

- Low prices for metal rolling are compensated by cheaper raw materials, but the cost of energy carriers (natural gas, electricity) is at a record level. The lack of normal demand for metal, along with excessive steel capacities, will lead to the fact that metallurgical companies that do not have their own raw material units will continue to balance on the verge of profitability (in managerial or international reports), ”R. Topoluk said.

In turn, the metallurgicalprom is sure that the financial indicators of metallurgists (excluding the indicators of the raw material units of corporations) may be much worse than 2011, when, recall, the net loss of manufacturers of manufacturers increased by 58.5%, to 6.5 billion UAH.
