MMK announced successful last year

OJSC Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works believes that all production facilities and installations operating in 2014 have demonstrated their best results in recent years.

In 2004, MMK expanded its coated steel production following the commissioning of a plant designed by Voest Alpine. The facility has an annual capacity of 200,000 tons, covering the production of cold rolled sheet or galvanized steel with layers of plastisol, polyvinylidene fluoride and polyester. The key markets for coated metal are the construction and home appliance industries.

The blast furnace reached a record production of 10.28 million tonnes of pig iron in its blast furnaces in 2014. Steelmaking has achieved its best performance since 2007 and the second highest capacity since 1991, with an output of 13.03 million tonnes in 2014. BOF production reached a record level of more than 10 million tonnes of steel per year, compared with the highest output since 2007.

Finally, in 2014, the rolling mill recorded for the first time the highest production level in its history since the commissioning of new rolling mills manufactured by Italy's Danieli in 2005. The plant produced more than 1.84 million tons of hot rolled products during the year. All rolling mills are currently loaded and supply high quality products such as long products to both MMK Metiz and the construction sector.

MMK's coke-chemical plant produced about 5.6 million tonnes of coke in 2014, which was the largest production volume recorded since 2004 and the second best result in the history of the plant.
