Construction of eight nickel smelters is expected to be completed in 2015, according to an official statement from Indonesia's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
Construction of another 12 nickel smelting facilities will be completed in 2016, said Sukhyar, general manager of the coal and mineral resources consolidation in the Indonesian ministry. These actions are aimed at implementing a government program to prevent the export of unprocessed nickel ore from the country.
