Ukrainian metallurgical companies forecast production growth in July

According to the Metallurgprom Association (Dnepropetrovsk), the plan for July 2015 provides for an increase in pig iron production by 23.5 percent to 2.1 million tons.

It is reported that metallurgical companies of Ukraine also plan to increase steel production in July by 4.5 percent compared with the expected production in June to 2.3 million tons, and the production of rolled products suggests an increase of 5.6 percent to 1.9 million tons.

During June, Ukraine produced 2.0 million tons of crude steel, which is 21.8 percent less than in June last year. Ukrainian metallurgists produced in June 1.83 million tons of pig iron and 1.79 million tons of general rolled products. In the first half of 2015, Ukraine produced 11.254 million tons of steel, which is 27.3 percent less compared to the same period in 2014. The Metallurgprom Association predicts that steel production throughout 2015 will reach 22.5 million tons.
