According to the China Stainless Steel Council (Special Steel Enterprises) Association (CSSC), China produced 10.759 million tonnes of stainless steel in the first half of 2015, an increase of 0.68 percent, or 72,000 tonnes, over the same period last year. ...
These products include: Cr-Ni stainless steel products, which were produced at 5.703 million tonnes, up 14.8 percent; from Cr-Mn stainless steel (including some products that do not meet international standards) the yield was 2.96 million tons, up 2.84 percent over the previous year.
In the first half of 2015, China imported 375,100 tons of stainless steel, which indicates a decrease in imports to the country by 16.83 percent compared to the period January-June last year.
During January-June, China exported 1.81 million tons of stainless steel products, down 6.93 percent year on year. Consumption of stainless products in the country for the first half of 2015 reached 8.03 million tons, which is 1.54 percent higher on an annualized basis.
