Norilsk Nickel renews the technical base of the Kola MMC

The Kola Mining and Metallurgical Company, a subsidiary of Norilsk Nickel, is purchasing new machinery and equipment for all production divisions. During the first half of 2015, Kola MMC purchased 78 units of new machinery and equipment for its production and supply chain for a total amount of RUB 300 million.

Ensuring production safety and increasing productivity for the company is the most important task, the implementation of which requires the introduction of new technology and equipment. Therefore, in 2015 Kola MMC plans to invest 1.67 billion rubles. in the renewal of fixed assets.

In the first half of the year, as part of the program to upgrade the technical base for the Severny mine, two self-propelled drilling rigs worth over 106 million rubles were purchased for deep well drilling, as well as pumping equipment and mining cars.

At present, the processing plant is being modernized, including the reconstruction of the crushing complex, in order to increase the production of concentrate from the Kola MMC's own raw materials. The company purchased two ball mills for over 100 million rubles. It is also planned to purchase a slurry electric pump unit. A special electric bridge crane and new truck scales were purchased for the metallurgical shop, and a soil compactor and two heat exchangers were purchased for the smelting shop.
