Metinvest Calls for Renewal of VAT Refunds

Ukrainian media reported last week that Metinvest, Ukraine's largest mining and metals company, said its enterprises operating under Ukrainian law, and its Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant and Yenakiyevo Steel Plant, both located in the Donetsk region, have been re-registered as controlled by Ukraine. the city of Mariupol, Donetsk region, and expressed the hope that VAT on exported goods will be refunded.

Metinvest made the announcement when the State Treasury Service of Ukraine, on behalf of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), stopped refinancing Metinvest's VAT in respect of Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant and Yenakiyevo Metallurgical Plant (all part of Metinvest).
