Blast furnace workers of the Mariupol Metallurgical Plant named after Lenin completed the overhaul of the filling machine No. 4 a day earlier than planned.
According to the general director of MMK, the repaired unit is a kind of record holder: during the overhaul period, the machine has leaked more than 230 thousand tons of cast iron and already required major restoration.
Traditionally, repairmen have replaced its conveyors, as well as revised the tilting winch used to lift the bucket when draining the cast iron.
Having worked quickly and efficiently during the overhaul, the Illichevsk blast furnaces plan to work on the filling machine No. 4 no worse than in the previous overhaul period, Zinchenko said.
