DTEK protests against the arrest by the Kiev Pechersk Court of its accounts and charges of financing terrorism

The Pechersk District Court of Kiev unreasonably seized the accounts of DTEK Kurakhovskaya CEP and blocked the financial activities of the enterprise, the press service of Rinat Akhmetov's company said.

“At the entrance of the investigative actions, the facts of offenses by the CEP of Kurakhovskaya have not been established. At the moment, the financial activities of the factory are blocked, the work of the enterprise is under threat of stoppage, "- noted in DTEK.

In addition, DTEK said that any accusations against the company of financing terrorism are groundless.

“DTEK has conducted and continues to operate exclusively in the legal field of Ukraine. The company does not have contractual relations with enterprises registered in the territory not controlled by Ukraine, the accusations of the company for financing terrorism are groundless, ”the company explained.

It should be reminded that with the permission of the Babushkinsky District Court of Dnepropetrovsk, an audit is being conducted in relation to OJSC DTEK Dneproenergo within the framework of criminal proceedings on charges of financing terrorism.

According to the investigation, officials of DTEK Dneproenergo at the end of 2014 - in February 2015 carried out financing of terrorism, namely: under the contract dated 20.06.2014 they bought coal from the Donetsk Eastern Coal and Energy Company, which was supplied to the Kryvyi Rih and Pridneprovskaya TPPs.

In turn, the Eastern Coal and Energy Company transferred money to Donantracite LLC, which were transferred into cash and directed to financial support of terrorist activities, the investigation said.
