The real gross domestic product (GDP) of Ukraine in the third quarter of 2015 decreased by 7 percent compared to the third quarter of 2014 (then the drop in GDP was 5.3 percent). This is evidenced by operational data, which was released by the State Statistics Service on Monday.
Compared to the second quarter of 2015, in which the fall reached 14.6 percent compared to the same period, Ukraine's GDP increased by 0.7 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk's government and the National Bank expect Ukraine's economy to grow in the fourth quarter of 2015, largely due to the low comparison base, and in 2016, according to the authorities, GDP will increase by 2-2.4 percent.
In 2014, Ukraine's real GDP decreased by 6.8 percent compared to 2013 (at constant 2010 prices). In general, at the end of 2013, Ukraine's GDP growth was zero, and in 2012 it slowed down to 0.2 percent from 5.2 percent in 2011.
