From 19 to 22 December 2015, ArcelorMittal University in Kryvyi Rih hosted training sessions under the British Council's Active Citizens program. Following such cities of Ukraine as Kiev, Odessa, Lviv, Ivano-Frankovsk, Sumy, Chernigov and Vinnitsa, about 30 people became participants in the training program in Krivoy Rog - public activists, entrepreneurs, students, representatives of various professions, including workers PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih". The organizer of the training event in Kryvyi Rih is the City Creator project, the facilitators of the training were representatives of the Congress of Cultural Activists, Kiev. Active representatives of the Kryvyi Rih community had the opportunity not only to get acquainted with the international program that contributes to the development of civil society, but also to learn how to analyze development trends and potential benefits of social action projects.

Active Citizens is a British Council program for youth in the field of intercultural dialogue and social development. The project started in 2009 and is being implemented in more than 40 countries of the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, South and East Asia. The aim of the project is to promote social change and sustainable development by building a network of young leaders with the involvement of youth organizations, which are the driving forces of reform in their communities. The project provides active citizens with knowledge and skills that will contribute to building relationships between people on the principles of equality and equal opportunities, respect for diversity, and the ability to conduct conflict-free dialogue.
