Brazilian mining company Vale delivers record production

Vale, a major Brazilian metal mining company, raised production by 4.3% in 2015, compared to the previous year, despite a glut of the global market. From October to November last year, the company significantly increased the rate of extraction of raw materials, which led to serious damage to other large producers, and the elimination of smaller competitors.

Throughout 2015, this huge iron ore company produced 345.9 million tons of products, which became an absolute record for it. The increase in raw material production has increased, despite the temporary halt of its joint venture Samarco with BHP, as a result of an accident at the dam in Mariana (Brazil). As a result of the dam break, 19 people died, and production volumes dropped by 39%, and reached 6.3 tons in the 4th quarter.

To restore production volumes at the Mariana complex, the company immediately increased productivity at other facilities, thus achieving production volumes in 2015.
